Are You Drinking Enough Water?

Are you drinking enough water? The average person requires approximately 3 liters of water each day. But, why do we need so much?

  • Water removes waste from our body through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements.
  • Drinking sufficient water also aids in digestion and prevents constipation (which, incidentally, is very important when eating a high-fiber diet).
  • Sufficient water intake aids in weight loss by filling you up, removing by-products of fat, and boosting metabolism. Plus, you can’t beat zero calories!
  • Drinking water also improves your skin, boosts your immunity, and increases your energy.

How can you ensure you’re drinking enough water?

  1. Keep water on your bedside table. Drink before going to sleep and when you wake up in the morning.
  2. Don’t leave home without a bottle. Keep water in your car and purse. By carrying a bottle with you, you are more likely to take sips during the day.
  3. Make it a habit to always drink water with your meals. Aim to have at least one full glass (or more) with your meal.
  4. Treat yourself to a nice water bottle or accessory. If drinking water in a cute water bottle will encourage you to drink more, then go ahead and get one!
